Welcome back!

If you haven't read Part 1 of this article, do that first. Everything will make much more sense.  Click right here to find Part 1. (We like to make things easy.)

OK, let's continue exploring more video content concepts that will take your digital marketing campaign to the next level.

If you haven't yet produced a video, I challenge you to record and publish one today. At the end of this article, I will give you a super simple video designed to get you to take the first step in creating videos for your business.

Now let's dive back into options for you to begin creating great video content that your audience will love!

Freemium model

Offering freemium content to an audience can yield solid results, but it will require some planning and upfront work.

You can find plenty of companies that offer a freemium level, such as Canva and Spotify. These companies allow you limited access to their paid services. In the case of Canva, some features that make life easier are limited to a paid plan, but you can still create designs on their free level. With Spotify, you can listen to music, but you get ads unless you upgrade to their premium plan.

If you're going to create freemium content for your audience, it needs to be authentic. Be sure to come from a place of genuinely helping other people.

Daily thought

Sharing a thought is a straightforward approach.

It doesn't need to be complicated or overproduced, making it perfect for beginners.

Here's a plan that you can use to make this a habit.

First, whenever you have a good thought about your business that you want to share, make a note of where you are. Do this for a week. Then look at the list, and you should notice that a particular place stands out.

Great, this is where you do your thinking! It could be in your car on the drive to your office (please don't take notes while driving, that would be dangerous), or maybe it's before you leave your home. Either way, you've found an excellent location to hit record!

If you're not completely comfortable on camera, that's OK. Sharing a daily thought can be something you do in 10 seconds as you become comfortable, increase the time, or share a little more detail. Just be sure not to go crazy; your audience most likely enjoys the briefness of your content.

Things come up, and we're all humans who sometimes run late or have other things pop up out of nowhere.

PRO TIP: Accumulate some videos before posting. You don't need a ton of them, but having a few recorded gives you a buffer.

Product breakdown

Product breakdowns or reviews are super engaging for your audience.

If you're anything like me, you've watched quite a few product review videos before making a purchase. The same goes for plenty of folks out there looking to learn more about a product before deciding to buy.

In a salon or barbershop, you could review new products that distributors bring in for you to try. You could also break down products that you're already using. Show people how to use them correctly, and talk about why you recommend them.

Supplements might be a natural place to start if you own a gym. I used to own a gym, and supplements were an area that confused most people I trained. Establish yourself as an expert by breaking down what the products are doing and what they're not. You could talk about your favorites and tell us why. Over time you'll become a trusted resource that people will turn to for information.

Becoming an authority is a powerful marketing tool.

Meet the team

This example is a fun one!

If you're not solo on your entrepreneurial journey and have a team, show them off!

You can be creative and have a lot of fun within your team which is always good. Showing them off to the world lets them know you're proud to work with them. If your team feels valued, they're more likely to continue to buy into the company's vision. They'll feel included and appreciated. You know, exactly how you want them to feel.

If you have people on your team who are great at producing videos already, utilize them to help create for the business.

Another option is to have them do a social media takeover for the day. Put the power in their hands and have them share whatever they want about your company.

When potential customers see your brand culture's uniqueness, they'll become more engaged.

Testimonials

How better to demonstrate the happiness of your current clients to potential ones than by sharing testimonials?

This article is about video content, and while just sharing the review on Instagram with the caption "Thank you!" is tempting, we need to get creative.

The odds are you have super fans. These are your customers who can't get enough. If you say you've got a new product, they're messaging asking how to buy it. If you extend your hours, they're showing up! They love you, and that's why you're going to ask them (without infringing on their service or time) to help you with a video.

I learned a trick a long time ago about creating content. The easiest way to make content is to have someone do it for you.

Just as showing off your team helps your business, showing off your customers is even more helpful.

Make your customers famous!

It's one thing to post about the benefits of doing business with you. It's entirely different when happy clients post about the benefits they've experienced firsthand.

You're buying trust with your audience and establishing yourself, again, as an authority in your field.

Teaser/upcoming

Teasing new offerings and upcoming events can be an excellent method of building anticipation.

Just be careful not to post, "I've got something new coming soon!" and expect people to engage. You haven't offered anyone anything, but you're asking for something in return?

Instead, let's draw some inspiration from the movie industry.

Generally, a movie company will produce and release a teaser first. A movie teaser is a short bunch of clips edited together to inspire a sense of intrigue. Typically, teasers are made before the movie is finished.

Once the movie is complete, a trailer will be put together. A trailer reveals more details about the storyline and creates a bit of an outline. With the teaser, you aren't entirely sure what to expect; with a trailer, we start to get the bigger picture.

Now let's use that to create videos about upcoming products or services in your business.

If you're working on a new service but it's not ready to be released, this is the perfect time to make your "teaser."

Hit record and say something like, "What if I could solve X problem for you? Keep an eye here for more info." Then publish. You've got your teaser out there.

When your service is ready to launch, hit record again and outline some of the benefits people can expect. Be sure to include some specifics but not every little detail. We want to drive curiosity. Then publish it. Now you've got your trailer out there.

This approach may seem like more work than simply writing "Something new coming soon!" because it is more work. But it's also giving people something FIRST before asking for something in return.

Entertainment plays a huge factor in decision-making. Put some effort into creating this type of video, and you'll see the reward.

FAQs

Every business deals with frequently asked questions.

Creating videos that answer the FAQs specific to your business does a bunch of different things.

First, people are looking for specific information, and you're making it easy for them to find.

Second, these types of videos can be used over and over again. I wouldn't post the same video every week but sharing a quick FAQ video once a month allows you to repurpose your content. Your entire audience will never see everything you post, so keep posting.

Why recreate the wheel?

Go live!

Social platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram allow users to go live.

Going live can look like many different things. You could be replying to questions, sharing information to help people, or researching and asking your audience for feedback.

Create a 'teaser' for when you'll be going live to create a sense of urgency within your audience. Tell people where and when they can find you and then show up.

A super simple introduction video that you're going to publish today!

I promised I'd give you a super simple video idea you can create and post immediately.

Here's what I want you to do.

Point your phone at yourself and hit record.

Please introduce yourself to the world and tell us why you're excited about your work.

Fill us in!

What are you currently creating?

What offerings excited you the most?

What got you into your field?

What can we expect when doing business with you?

Pick one or answer all of them. Keep it short and sweet.

PRO TIP: Don't forget a call to action. Tell people clearly and precisely what they should do next.

Don't edit or watch the video 927 times when you finish recording.

Instead, publish it to one or all of your social media platforms.

Then, move on with your day and celebrate the fact that you just published your first video!
